Job Description
Provide respiratory care services that are covered under the employee's license in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Requires ability to visualize the results of several diversified tasks, from selecting and implementing procedures to judging and acting independently within established guidelines. Subject to check or approval, moderate, seasoned creative judgment.
Experience Required
- Graduate from a School of Respiratory Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) required.
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- Current NRP required prior to employment
- Current licensure in the State of Pennsylvania required.
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialing by the Nation Board for Respiratory Care required.
- New graduates may apply if taking the RRT National Boards within the next 6 months.
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency, knowledge, and skills in providing Respiratory Therapy to all patients in the acute care setting
- Able to care for multiple patients
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Previous clinical/educational respiratory hospital rotations
- Educational resource for Patients and Family members
