Job Description
Provides care under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. Teaches patients exercise for mobility, strength, and coordination; trains on activities such as walking with crutches, canes, or walkers; teaches massage.
Demonstrates the use of physical agents and electrotherapy such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Measures changes in the patient's performance as a result of the physical therapy provided.
Experience Required
- Associate's Degree: Physical Therapy Assistant
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation LS
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire
- Health Services/BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
- Physical Therapist Assistant Upon Hire
- Drivers License Required for Homecare/Hospice/Home based outpatient positions upon Hire
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Can train and mentor others
- Able to work at various locations per diem
- Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, and competent physical therapy treatments
