Job Description
Performs a variety of patient services such as: Phlebotomy, EKG (as site location requires), DNA collections (as site location requires), and specimen collections on a routine and STAT basis.
Performs a wide variety of test ordering and clerical duties as required. Performs specimen processing to include accessioning of orders and processing clinical specimens in preparation for departing to HNL processing facility. Projects a positive image of LVHN, with a focus on patient care and customer relations.
Experience Required
- High School Diploma/GED
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstratable, excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of best practices and regulation of blood drawing techniques and collection
- Course work or previous medical terminology experience
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and providers
- Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others
- Knowledge of safety guidelines, utilization of proper PPE, and sanitization processes
- Must successfully complete appropriate training and achieve proficiency at the end of 90 days
