Job Description
Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of Occupational Therapy (OT) and plans and conducts OT programs to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach their maximum level of independence.
Provides assessment of the patient condition based on diagnosis from the referring physician. Develops and updates an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with patient and family to assist in returning them to a maximum level of function.
Facilitates participation in everyday living. Improves and facilitates quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Helps people regain or maintain their independence and lead active lives.
Experience Required
- Associate's Degree Occupational Therapy
Experience Required
- 1 year Clinical experience required for Home Care
- Must have successfully completed clinical experience as required by the school program
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques
- Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, and competent occupational therapy treatments
- Thorough knowledge of safety standards and regulations for the workplace
