Job Description
Performs laboratory procedures to obtain results for providers to utilize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Uses established procedures and protocols that require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
Experience Required
- Associate's Degree as a medical laboratory technician or Specialized Diploma. Must meet CLIA grandfathered MLT regulations.
Experience Required
- Less than 1 year of experience
- A clinical laboratory internship.
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- Licensure - Preferred: MLT - Medical Technician - ASCP or equivalent. Upon Hire
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Ability to read, understand, and speak basic English
- Demonstrated technical skills, including being able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific documents
- Demonstrated ability to use/learn the computer system, word processing, e-mail, and applicable software programs
- Demonstrated dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department, unit, and hospital
- Able to apply common mathematical skills
- Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
