Job Description
Conducts all breast-related procedures, including but not limited to: diagnostic breast imaging exams (including mammography, ultrasound, needle localizations, and stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsy).
Creates an environment that is safe and risk-free that provides radiation protection according to the standards established by local, state, and federal requirements. Maintains oversight for quality control for equipment (some imaging departments may require cross-functional duties in diagnostic imaging).
Performs basic clerical duties such as patient registration and appointment scheduling may be required at some sites.
Participates in patient education and community outreach activities.
Experience Required
- Specialized Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
Experience Required
- Less than 1 year Experience in screening and diagnostic mammographic breast imaging
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- CMT - Certified Mammography Tech - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 60 Days
