Job Description
Works in the application of physical activity and behavioral intervention for those with clinical disease and health conditions that have been shown to provide therapeutic and/or functional benefits.
Provides exercise screening, exercise and physical fitness testing, exercise and health education/promotion, measurement and evaluation of exercise, and physical activity related outcomes measures.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology
- Preferred: Master's Degree Exercise Physiology
Certification & Licensure Requirements
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- Preferred: ACSM-Cert Tr-Exer Spec-Hlth-Fit Inst-Exer Phys - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Knowledge, Skill, & Ability Requirements
- Able to develop an individualized exercise prescription for cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular patients based on clinical results of assessment and/or exercise stress test
- Can evaluate the patient's responses to exercise conditioning
- Strong educational teaching abilities for patient education, both individual and group
- Strong knowledge of cardiac risk factors and lifestyle modifications
